Suppositions was conceived to discover and develop a greater personal understanding of the visual, expressive and communicative relationships between print and digital media. It examines and explores the qualities of print-based visual-poetry and presents a collection of experimental onscreen interactive poems that are accessed through hidden printed encryptions. This project required an extensive amount of research into the history of visual poetry. Particular inspiration came from the semiotic and typographic influences that emerged in Europe during the early twentieth century as well as works by contemporary digital artists.
