INFO / ON
Fireflies grew out of an exploration into the theme of free play with the ambition of achieving a rich tactile and enjoyable user experience. Wearing a specially designed mitten allowing the computer to locate and importantly identify whether their hand is open or closed the user is able to catch, move and release virtual fireflies. There is also a constructive element whereby catching and adding different coloured fireflies into the jam-jar the user mixes and controls the jar's coloured glow. The project was selected for Enter06 new media talent showcase and completed in collaboration with Sang Gu Lee and Tharangie Kumburuhene.
