Soma is a multimedia design final year project inspired by research into the topic of emotional communication using digital technologies. It plays with the concept of being alone and projecting a message or feeling to the moon so that it may be seen by a distant loved one. As a key objective Soma aims to embody an intimate and pensive quality by using colours, abstract shapes and movement to visually express the users mood. This visualisation of emotion is determined by the user adjusting the position of a revolving interface, which encircles the screen. Soma was conceive and created by Multimedia Design student Ashni Desai.
